Selmor Mtukudzi – Shungu

Last week I found a great album by accident while looking for African musicians. This inimitable album is called “Shungu” and is performed by Selmor Mtukudzi, a very talented young singer and song writer [1]. In her debut album the Zimbabwean musician combines different influences, realizations of those reach from genial piano, guitar and percussion fragments to the use of the Hosho [2], which is a traditional Zimbabwean instrument. Instrumental performances together with Selmor’s voice form a wonderful new style of African music in a unique way. Moreover there is also given an impressive cover version of “Handiende” by Steve Makoni. Further information and some songs are available on Selmor’s facebook page [1].

Roma 2009

Here you are given a few impressions of my spontaneous short trip by train to Rome.

Home to Tyrol

Yesterday I came home, and my first impression, after passing Hochfilzen, was really amazing.

I’ll test the OpenStreetMap plugin, maybe I’ll have the time to write you short reports during my motorbike tour to Scotland France.
